our untroubled sea
every splash and ripple
part of the stillness
Eyes peering through glass
Behold new buds of blood red
Rain and wind teasing
Baby in my arms—
These maple shadows flowing
Over river stone
Blue river magic
bends through trees and carries clouds
teaching her to flow
Reflecting on you
Ripples flow gently in the stream
Mourning, floating tears
mists swirl on the lake
then tendrils unfurl, curls bloom,
reach long for moonbeams
I cannot see you
as the train leaves the station
but still wave good bye
violet blossoms
between two old rocking chairs
keeping storms at bay
red-winged blackbird’s flight
among the summer rainfall
a blue sky promise
nightly reflections
moonlight spills liquid silver
across the water
one pair of footprints
amber glow over the gulf
pelicans fly low
Blessings of lightness
the heavy heart lies like lead
water flows downhill
Great White Egret lands
on bed of marsh hyacinths
brackish salt pond stills
Flash of Egret wings
White against the muddy shore
Too soon departing
Easter afternoon
river full of roaring boats
sea lions hiding
Lone horseshoe crab stuck
In wet sand, and pounding waves
Continue their stride
cormorant spreads wings
time for pond benediction
sand hill cranes take flight
The pond, stocked with koi.
An orange circumference
already - one duck.
A sprawling green sea
Twinkling lights scooped up by birds
Singing with delight
sun sinks behind sea
shades of blue ripen in sky
moon illuminates
A distant shoreline
the "God Help us" hospice room
with rain on its panes
the last cornstalk rests
waves of snow settle by her
peace for a moment
Old blue dragonfly
Floats unseen along water
Currents of my dreams
Crimson rivers swell
Signaling impending storms;
Doves dance on wet clay.
ocean breeze arrives
rustling our potted bamboo
window faces west
crystalline water
cradles swimming silver streaks
among swaying reeds.
Storm clouds hover high
Rain hangs like mist in mid-air
We yearn for puddles
ice on the surface
hiding still flowing water
hushed but quite alive
Adrift, weeping sea
violet sky, zeal & lust
but a dolent kiss
Heron in the marsh
Steely gaze, lethal hunter
Still as the Buddha
Willow branches dance
Warm breeze across the water
Mother calls me home
Meditative sounds
Of rain nourishing plant life
Reminiscent walks
Drowning sun beams shoot
Water is hungry stained glass
Slicing chromatic
At trail's crest, new views
Shining pond, dragonfly wings
Transcendent delights
Warm-stemmed mint wind bends
Soft purple bursts of crocus
White rain spits silver
the herring swoops low,
slicing the water-mirror -
fracturing sunset
