spring chicken again
on well-trodden forest path
rose hip flashes red
Verdant souls entwine
Middlemist Red blooms deeply
West London at night
old gardener stops,
watches a thin jet trail pierce
his bare, gnarled maple
pink roses and Jasmines
blossomed in your curly hair -
like a spring's deep breath
She wore flowered pants
Her curvaceous roses bloom
Gardens in motion
white dogwood petals
confetti in the spring breeze
carpet for bare feet
an emerald green
hummingbird flutters above
golden sunflower
Tulip skirts flare out
Men, hopeful pollinators
Cheer warmer weather
hear flowers whisper
I am beauty I am death
pressed between pages
Cherry petals fall
cherished into the tea cup
that holds them but once
Blossoms in the fields
A muted purple flower
The lavenders bloom
upon the flower
bumblebee high on pollen
burrows into spring
The evening primrose
Its tender yellow petals
Lift and fly away
March wind blows petals.
One sticks to tear stained chapped cheek
content to be held.
snow swirls in the wind
torn blossoms of apple trees
ashes of moons past
grandmother's journal
inscribed names nourished with tears
white lotus rising
Nurseries for stars
With countless worlds to blossom
From bright, neon clouds
Adrift, weeping sea
violet sky, zeal & lust
but a dolent kiss
Unbothered blossom
Tragically transient
Unworshipped wonder
plain-dead flowers fade
but she nurses each dry stalk
still more tenderly
trees, scent from nature.
fragrant blossoms, needles, blooms.
gifts, sent from heaven.
delicate flower
sways in the warm mountain breeze
without a worry
Bee shadows flutter
Over lavender blossoms -
Summer's end begins
Summer fog rolls in.
Dewdrops bead the blooming rose.
Breathe the scented air.
Bees pack their hind legs
with pollen from the Daisy
Honey badger smiles
Hibiscus flowers
Wither in the new darkness
Waiting for summer
I severed the head,
left the leaning, withered stalk:
sunflower harvest.
the snail slips slowly
over a green garden hose
carrying its home
bumbling on flowers
extracting precious nectar
bees feeding freely
From a wire fence
a rabbit slips underneath,
the garden thief rides.
Tulips sprout and bloom
Bear slumbering peacefully
Grass breaks through hard ice
pale violet blooms
intoxicating fragrance
thriving lilac bush
Swollen russet heads
nod sun-stained petals to earth
in summer's last sigh
Confetti petals
Of dogwood twigs and branches
Pressed against cement
Tall the bee balm blooms:
open flowers inviting
hummingbirds' return
Japanese garden -
I think I'll just spend the day
counting my blessings
