sun ignites treetops
explosion of autumn flames
vibrant fall tresses
to be an acorn
falling to musty humus
cracking Earth open
autumn trees aflame
blazing canopies burn red
summer's fling consumed
Sunlight magnified
Drops of dew on fallen leaves
Bubbles of delight
from a naked oak
a lonesome sparrow watches
autumn, then winter
early harvest stroll
tentative hands within reach
seeking rapprochement
I watch the gold leaves
Dancing lightly through the air
Autumn lifts her head
cool autumn morning
the northern mockingbird's song
wakes dozing daisies
lacy goldenrod
autumn's delicate yellow
will not go gently
Thankful November
guests eating prodigiously
leave after the meal
I severed the head,
left the leaning, withered stalk:
sunflower harvest.
autumn equinox
a seven point buck wanders
through the neighborhood
the harvest moon shines
solitary traveler
stops to rest awhile
cold October rain
tea growing cool in brown mug
muted household sounds
acorns hitting hoods
falling from mighty pin oaks
striking with sharp pings
Smitten by the sound
Southern spoken word in June
The soul's peak harvest
crisp cool air blowing
colored leaves snap between toes
autumn imminent
smiling summer falls
autumnal leaves pale and pass
weary winter springs
clear autumnal sky
glowing sliver-crescent moon
Venus shines beside
Thoughts weave in and out
Cobwebs in an autumn breeze
Caught up in days past
fallen maple leaf
cradled in her tiny hand
autumn lullaby
Oh, Enlightened One
Teach me how to see the truth
In the Autumn Grass
Thunder in the sun
Ice berg in the desert sand
Autumn in the air
yellow wings outstretched
butterfly tries to capture
weak autumn sunshine
The autumn sun fades
Out behind the rolling hills
Shadows creep towards home
morning glories rise
iridescent petals gleam
harvest moon tonight
dreaming of your smile:
that breath of sun in autumn
on a cold window.
Poppy moves quickly,
Chasing autumnal light play,
In the Peak twilight.
Yelping coyotes
chase October's gibbous moon
Dog woofs softly, once
Fall retains its glow
Falling leaves and golden times
Followed by the snow
the drummer chews gum
in rhythm with the music -
autumn in New York
Rustling autumn leaves
Stick in the brown muddy earth
A tedious life
rusting horizon
trees beneath the rising moon,
mists from autumn lungs
the etchings of dawn
mellow on the autumn sky
each stroke a facade
Dancing autumn leaves
Shredded on the 405
Brittle orange dreams
falling leaves in spring
bare twig quivering and bent
girl child runs laughing
