Mayday gift appears
Towering Catalpa forms
Blossom cloud and rain
water lapping stones
solid in how they are placed
still among the flows
A few drops of rain
a thirsty earth is begging
clouds blown by the wind
wood smoke and cut grass,
moist turned earth and lavender,
spruce, pine, and water
Hollowed, a canoe
Waiting for you to enter,
Adrift on the stream.
Rising from water
the sun's lance piercing the cloud
brings enlightenment
Glistening green snake
Weaving down through the valley -
Our mountain river
windfall cedar trunk
rolled smooth in rain forest moss
decays evergreen
bright silver ribbon
moonlight slash on cold water
cold as grey ashes
cold cemetery?
a flurry of whippoorwills
water-washed tombstones
Hail you, full of grace
Do you sense blessings divine?
Stone drips on water.
The darkening sky
softly exhales its last wish
early autumn rain
stooping among dunes
camels gleaning green stubble
after desert rain
Against my window
rain taps veiled time signatures
ebbing me to sleep.
walking clasping hands
twilight trail circles the lake
fog oroboros
tiny loggerheads
a treasure map drawn on sand
erased by the waves
cool swirl of water
churning in the river's crook--
she laughs up the bank
Fresh, gentle, Spring breeze
Tides of tears roll out to sea
A new beginning
Yellow leaves like rain
a cold north wind swirls, briefly
they rise once again
Down by the river
Without you, gone to the fog?
It's my soul that's lost
Below the ice film
Blanketing the sleeping pond
Golden fins quiver
waterfall journey
over, around obstacles
hard rock music streams
First frost of the year
The lake steams in the morning
Geese are taking off
Moon rides on the waves
Night after night ritual
Walking in the sand
clouds on clouds, waves on
waves in the summer sunset
footprints in the sand
A friend canceled plans
I eat lunch in the park, watching
Boaters on the lake.
Dandelions float
On summer's ponds like bodies
Float on winter's lakes
Sun shining? Grey clouds?
Wind? Is it going to rain?
Miami Weather
Sitting on the bench
I gave the lake my heartache
I didn't want one
Orange iguana
Winds sway shaking trees aside
Trembling blue waters
sun's brilliant sparkle
turquoise blue ocean abounds
pelicans gliding
Eyes above water
Watching dragonfly on twig
Flash of sticky tongue
Out of the vast marsh
plaintive grey curlew calling -
sister scolding me.
Icy village pond
Bundled skaters weave designs
Hands hug warm cocoa
rain clouds come to play,
wind pushes far memories
old and rusted swing
infernal water
crashes and foams in splendor
sounds of utter peace
