women in saris
sitting silently by lake
colorful contrast
adrift in slumber
taken to the sea; blue-skies
waves crash against rocks
Storm clouds full of rain
Lightning splits a darkened sky
Blooms sprout from wet soil
Singing glassy rains
over bitter storms and seas-
the cry of a child.
rain runs under stones
chills the almost ripe garden
pleats the evening air
lunar crescents glow
lighting nearby placid pond
skinny dippers splash
The syzygy line,
a confluence of forces.
Sun, Moon, Earth, Water.
small waves break softly
weak sunlight skims the surface
two dolphins surging
a distant lake shore
drinks the last drop of sunset...
Pisces on the rise
Fall softly spring rain
my grandmother's lips are dry
awaiting the bloom
fine white china smashed
scattered along the shore line
sea shell collection
midwinter south beach
wind-driven sand moon-pulled waves
each dog bows then plays
Between the puddles
the rain is invisible.
The sidewalk is still.
ocean mugs the shore
awaiting the next onslaught
pebbles lie trembling
she unwraps her hair
a sea of flowers and rain
flows from her wonder
We are storms at sea,
Falcons above the desert,
A great song in all.
raindrop donnybrook
washing winter's dirty socks
daffodils rejoice
Restless, scattered mind
Awakens me before dawn
Bobcat at our pond
evening chorus,
ecstatic cacophony
pond frogs praising rain
Our days like driftwood
on a bare reach of river,
gifts from gods upstream
Whitecapped bands of clouds
Roll in waves across the sky
Toward the beach of dawn.
Heart, bare, frozen shut;
like the yonder river's ice,
still forevermore.
Rain falls. Leaves begin
to spring. Little lambs skip. Birds
couple, build and sing.
The diving whales leave
flat circles of sea - mirrors
into both our worlds.
Leaves flutter and turn
Wrapped in wind, dark clouds, and rain
Still the robin sings
Sauntering mint leaves,
winds of spring swim tenderly,
eager rain taps soft.
oarless, rudderless
just an ordinary leaf
drifting out to sea
Black ocean waves run
Fingers through the moonlight harp
Midnight opera
Rain has a secret,
Taps your shoulder then a toe:
Warm breath into earth.
silent in its path
the moon reflects in ripples
leaping to each wave
Pole in the water
leaves start to fall as I wait
Finally, a tug
Broken desert floor
Water drops fill crevasses
A sapling in bloom
the stars remain still
in the dark depths of the night -
no boats on the lake
Cape foxtail grasses
slight agreeable sea breeze
rustles awns faintly
winter snow melting
revealing green grass below
blue jays in the rain
Pale green periscopes
Piercing seas of muddy snow
Seeking warmth and light
