Tree branches whisper
A gentle unseen caress
Scents of blooms afar
babbling summer creek
floating leaf with clever ant
must have surfing bug
summer afternoon
tree and pond on lonely field
sky like baldachin
two crows on fir branch
showers soaking their plumage
feathers rinsed for flight
Fragile egos caught
On tree limbs like broken kites
Flapping in the wind
Maple leaf unfurls
New life open to the sun
Caterpillar bite
Rustling autumn leaves
Stick in the brown muddy earth
A tedious life
In a forest grove
Flute-like tones echo brightly
Sound of a wood thrush
Branches gently sway
waving goodbye to the past
stirring memories
Scent of earth and moss
Tiny buds on dormant trees
Bursting forth new life
From a distant tree
A curious pair of eyes
observes those who pass
Divorcing herself
the miller leaves her cocoon
for the distant light.
salty ocean breeze
palm trees shadow sun-kissed skin
coconut heaven
Branches fight for sun
reaching skyward; mushrooms rest
on the forest floor.
abandoned bird nests
perch on top of leafless trees
my bones feel the cold
blue swallowtail wings
oak by oak, small sound among
broken bell thunders
rusting horizon
trees beneath the rising moon,
mists from autumn lungs
The aspen tree bleeds
her bloomed petals of fire
confetti the wind.
red-robed cardinal
posing in naked pear tree
cloaked by winter dusk
The snow is falling,
the smell of cookies and pine
fill the Christmas air.
A green olive branch,
Flood waters lower gently,
The promise of peace.
Dancing autumn leaves
Shredded on the 405
Brittle orange dreams
falling leaves in spring
bare twig quivering and bent
girl child runs laughing
leaves rustling at doors
harboring ancient secrets
no entrance tonight
the wind turns the leaf
over and over again
'til the earth is new
trees clothed in pure white
adorned with lively scarlet
cardinal ribbons
unwavering light
seas were held beyond the woods
the stillness waited
Kyoto beckons
Japanese maples aflame
Koi and leaves swirling
Colors fall away
pencil sketch trees line sidewalks
orange sticks to my shoes
fallen maple leaves
forming a golden circle
around the Buddha
A lone ladybird
promenades across a leaf
in the mid-day sun.
Twisturn august trees
in sorrowful ageless time;
night is eloquent
leaves turning yellow
zebra grass plumes quivering . . .
ravens' wings flapping
brisk muffled crackling
children play with Autumn leaves
red and yellow hues
green flies eat peaches
picnic table under pines
roots hold a rainstorm
The Blue Ridge Mountains
As far as the eye can see
Brilliant colored leaves
