Waterfalls drizzle
Gentle waves rock the surface
A cave rests behind
Gray skies and cold times,
The rain and wind will collide,
Sad lives and good-byes.
Your power, gentle
as the flower in your hair,
strong as ocean tides.
Frosty silver lakes
Ice skating over my heart
Bitterly cutting
We pad to the beach
float in a warm, shining sea
amble back, tired.
fresh tea leaves dancing
with gusto through dull water
a flight of dragons
Large emerald hands
Deep forest beneath our eyes
The sea is churning
Rain on the window
my shoulder, your restless head--
where secrets are safe
Glass beach surf castoffs
Wave polishes rainbow stones
Vanishing treasures
Freezing rain and snow
Silken black lace of winter
Children ice skating.
babbling summer creek
floating leaf with clever ant
must have surfing bug
Darkness, quiet rain
Train whistles in the distance
I think I can sleep
summer afternoon
tree and pond on lonely field
sky like baldachin
sudden morning storm
rolling thunder, heavy rain
frogs taking cover
sparkling, smooth as glass
reflecting skies blue brilliance
salt water haven
The wind smells like death,
I think of you breathing it--
The sound at low tide.
Fish swim through foundries
finally silent beneath
the rising waters
heavy summer air
thick with rain wanting to fall
my plants love you so
dark drifting wall-cloud
tendrils of rain trail below
backlit setting sun
leaden, heavy rain
pouring into the turned earth
shovel left to rust
Cherry blossom floats
Choking the stream to stillness
Spring suicide pact
what a mist upon
the mossed river. crocus blooms
beside grey-green stones.
An intimate rain
Reaches suddenly to me
Out of a clear sky
Diving pelicans
strike sea. Glistening, playful
ripples tag a child.
Swim from corruption
Venture into fresh waters
Drown no more, just breathe
wooden bench, slats grayed
warped by summer sun and rain
our sanctuary
trimming donkey feet
summer sun behind rain clouds
I call with carrots
Macarthur Park Lake
a downtown LA jewel
broken glass needles
rain on latte stone
ancient spiritual beat
my heart knows this song
Raindrops dimple ponds
Croaking frogs disturb silence
Night exhales morning
footprints in the sand
lapped up by the evening's tide
she walks on water
Tendrils of strong flame
Curl throughout an endless maze
Yet cower in rain.
nature limits man
mountains on the ocean floor
never to be scaled
awakened by waves
I watch the dawn?s silhouette
undressing the sun
nap in the hammock
no silver hair--no gnarled joints
surfing the high waves
Warm sand, broken shells
Laughter folds into the waves
Sorrows are drowning
