a cantaloupe moon
floats above the horizon
fall is in the air
Mercurial time.
New pages smelling acrid
taste of rain and plum.
fallen maple leaves
forming a golden circle
around the Buddha
My shower is next
Mother Nature washes me
Winter rain is here
A lone ladybird
promenades across a leaf
in the mid-day sun.
Pale against the snow
Remains of a cocky deer
Await hungry beasts
Winter's drums drumming,
Rooftop snow, thunders to earth.
Burdens slipping free.
a red-bellied snake
livid in the wet meadow
season of ripe plums
Twisturn august trees
in sorrowful ageless time;
night is eloquent
moon dances skyline
each holding the other's hand
swaying with music
leaves turning yellow
zebra grass plumes quivering . . .
ravens' wings flapping
brisk muffled crackling
children play with Autumn leaves
red and yellow hues
Cool water babbles
At the bottom of a creek
Tongues of nature speak
footsteps in the snow
none stray from the beaten path
the rose is dying
Yellow butterfly
beats sorrow against the wind
traveling alone
Breakfast moon lingers
Indigo mug with slow cracks
Tea before parting
The Blue Ridge Mountains
As far as the eye can see
Brilliant colored leaves
I give my blue heart
to the bird of paradise
this night of endings
dormant soul flicker
against the harsh endless wind
match in a dark cave
The arid wind blows
Tumbling through this pointless world
The monotony
rime of silver frost
recedes as the dawning sun
creeps across green grass
a crystalline glow
icey dreams with wings of breath,
diamonds in the snow.
Two girls call a dog
Water ruffles at sunset
Lake brims, heart opens
Meadow lark afield
White moon beam piercing the wing
Flightless bird of sleep
Moon stealth'ly rising
dark night awaits the splendor
of its silv'ry lamp
The Winter Wind Blows
A Silent Sovereignty
Ruling Manhattan
Petal snow drifting,
Cherry-pink swirling carpet:
Walls fall at your touch.
hundreds of snow geese
peel from placid lake water
shredded porcelain
Gingered ivy leaves
Hugging the oak to keep warm
Jack Frost stalking you
On a street corner;
We are waiting for a cab,
watching the sun rise.
Grey skies spill cold drops.
Early autumn blossoms smile
at the weeping sky.
Autumn loneliness
Windswept trees - bleak vistas yet
Chrysanthemums bloom
golden autumn leaves -
childhood days right behind me
with every photo
The Acacia Leaves
Delicious Gourmet foodstuff
Giraffe reaching out
Two red leaves atop
Umbrella of green elm leaves
Whispering autumn.
Under the great sun
An orchid withers away
To live once again.
