October sunset
cold fog rises from the earth
among the tombstones
grey day tossing clouds
maple leaves spin across yards
motion absent change
snow laced window pane
cardinal perched on barren bough
winter solitude
berry on a branch
bright juice and the wren's sharp beak;
a light breeze rustles
Summer humid haze
Cloaking the earth in white gauze
Of sleepy tumor
A tawny blanket
Undulating as the wind
Strokes the winter wheat
snow and cherry tree
snow falling on red round orbs
winter in the spring
Memory sinks teeth
marrow-aching agony
sharper bite than wind
this year summer flames
washington wails with no tears
warm hot wind blows west
under a tree while
sun burns as on primal day
shadows dance with wind
Fog and foam stir grit
Chattering teeth like pebbles
Pearls ground by oysters
Frost binds to bare trees.
Bleak dew covers the morning.
A life forgotten.
Rivulets of rain
Will revitalize the green-
Death is but transit-
Gusts of wind blow cold
Blanketing life with stillness
Whisking away souls
In Anchorage snow
before the false-front saloon,
bottlenecks glitter.
fog stretches across
the morning water garden
flower lilies float
Fragile violets
Hid in wind-sheltered niches
Conquer hostile rocks
Cirrocumulus
Dressed to the nines and waltzing
Dancers in the storm
the Northern Kingdom
snow bound moonlight hardening
where dreams are buried
rare morning thunder
biblical sky pelts glass rain
all the leaves look sharp
hippies at night gig -
beating to different rhythms
the wind and their hearts
Billow of fragrance
Wafting sultry summer breeze
Honeysuckles bloom
Hot pavement and tar,
The wind waving, knocking on
Bristling green birch trees.
Snow melt swells river
Spring flows scour the landscape
Fish find calm water
blank foggy morning -
deep into analysis
all my childhood dreams
Morning on water
winds blow revelry through leaves
a heron splashes
Four cows munching grass
Lightning bugs blinking in trees
Dusk ? a summer day
whispering breezes
carry hushed sounds of water
rolling over rocks
In towing this wind
I sweep up a lonesome psalm
(I heal in bending.)
Sweet fire listens.
Too delicate beauty stirs
Death as light snow falls.
Painted white-on-white:
Great White Egret, wings spread wide
in a cloudy sky.
Spiral clouds of birds
Over golden, ghostly Rome
A cold, spring twilight
Mayday gift appears
Towering Catalpa forms
Blossom cloud and rain
A few drops of rain
a thirsty earth is begging
clouds blown by the wind
Questions always come
Landscapes clouded and misty
finally resolve
raindrops trickle down
lightning flashes angry skies
longing for rainbows
